As the scope of climate change law rapidly expands and changes, companies must be adequately prepared for the potential impacts of greenhouse gas regulation. We continuously monitor and apprise clients of the latest developments in state, federal, regional and international climate change policy. In addition to tracking this information, we offer analysis of proposed and approved policies, determining their impact on clients’ businesses and operations.
A sample of our representative activities include:
- Counseling clients on the potential impacts of the EPA’s endangerment finding and the Department of the Interior’s polar bear listing under the Endangered Species Act
- Advising clients on WTO/GATT implications of United States and European climate change regulatory proposals
- Monitoring climate change legal developments in Illinois and the Midwest on behalf of several Midwest-based customer and energy supplier groups
- Advising some of the largest investment companies in the world about the status and potential impacts of state, federal and international climate change policies
